Poorly Executed Media Paywalls Prove Disastrous

Poorly executed media paywalls cost subscribers, listeners, viewers, and advertisers. Horror stories of internally implemented paywalls are rampant and the bottom-line impact significant. Media sources rarely have the IT expertise or the knowledge of pitfalls in the paywall installation process. Just as payroll services are outsourced, so are paywalls.
Effectively executed third party paywall solutions are efficacious, effective, and revenue centers for media outlets in print, radio, and television. This is the conclusion of the best-practice paywall solutions report offered free of charge for those media executives requesting the first-of-its-kind data by January 31, 2014 reported Thomas R. Cutler, CEO and publisher of the report.
According to Cutler, “A paywall is a system used by on-line sites to limit access to content. Paywalls typically prevent readers from seeing more than a handful of stories each month before being required to pay for a digital subscription of some kind. The paywall is part of a strategy by media companies to find additional revenue streams. More than 50% of all print media will be on a paywall system by 2015, yet sadly more than half will have to suffer the pain of poor execution of such a process. The cost is often a media consumer who washes their hands of such nonsense. There is real value in content and media outlets need to make the value proposition clear, concise, and simple for the customer to continue content consumption and derive perceived value and worth in the relatively minor costs associated.”
The first paywall data report is being assembled and distributed by TR Cutler, Inc. Requests for the report made before January 31, 2014 will be sent free of charge upon publication. To receive the Paywall Data Report register at: http://trcutlerinc.com/paywall-data-report.php.
